DFJHS Mission

When it comes to lending a helping hand or taking the time to really get to know students, Mr. Peterson comes to mind. He is one example of our mission to think critically, live responsibly and lead ethically. On this particular day, he helps our office aids update the marquee. Thank you, Mr. Peterson.

Have you heard? The Zombie Apocalypse came to DFJHS and the Girls' PE classes SURVIVED! Girls' PE teacher Kasey Larson set up a "Zombie Obstacle Course" in the gymnasium where girls had to race through virtual darkness and avoid being overtaken by the zombies throughout the course. The girls were frightened and thrilled at the same time and all made it through! Thanks to Miss Larson for her innovative ideas to keep students moving!

Here Comes The Sun (And The Planets)!

Submitted by alesha.lemmon on

How can we see just how immense our solar system is? Well, Miss Hanks’ Earth Systems class figured out a way. They built a scale model in the front foyer of the school and lined up the planets in relation to the sun. They used science and math to form the scale model from actual distances of those planets. The students were able to do and see for themselves the colossal size of our piece of the universe.
