Diamond Fork Middle School News for the week of April 10, 2023
Congratulations to Hunter Smith and Baylee Fausett! These students were chosen as state finalists in the Do the Right Thing essay contest sponsored by Governor Cox.
Craig Harvey of Horace Mann honored our own Stephanie Thorne as DFMS Classified Employee of the Year. Mrs. Thornes is the kind, smiling face of our front office. She is always happy, positive, and willing to help our parents, students, faculty and staff in any way they need. Thank you, Mrs. Thorne!
We love Mr. Ryan! There is nothing he can't do and we could not do what we do without him. He has taught English, Reading, Film and Lit, Creative Writing, Debate, Yearbook, ESL as well as mentoring our new teachers!
Our Leadership Class did a book study on the book Have You Filled Your Bucket Today? Students then created their own scratch off cards with ways to "fill your bucket" for students and staff!
Odyssey of the Mind is an international program designed to teach students how to develop and use their natural creativity to become problem-solvers. At DFMS Odyssey of the Mind is an after school program coached by parents and teachers but ran by students! Students are given open ended problems and then the students come up with, build, create, and perform the inventive solutions!
We are so proud of Stephen Petersen and Emily Hatch for being selected to compete in the Central Utah Regional Science and Engineering Fair. Stephen placed second in the chemistry division for his project on Film Canister Rockets.
