Character Ed students dress up for Red Ribbon Week

Submitted by russ.sumens on

Yesterday students in the Character Ed class dressed up to show the consequences of drug use.  If the student wore white, they were showing how avoiding drugs had a positive impact, but if they wore black, they were showing the negative effects of drug use on individuals and on our society.  On their backs, they printed papers with statistics and details to help bring awareness to our school.  Way to go Character Ed!

STAND 4 KIND and Red Ribbon Week Assembly at DFMS!

Submitted by brenda.burr on

Through a grant, DFMS got to have Stand 4 Kind come to DFMS today to kick off our Red Ribbon and Kindness Week. Guest speaker Duncan Kirkwood gave a message about being resilient, kind, and drug free. The band Poolhouse performed three songs for the students and spoke about the importance of being a good friend. And our very own Diamondback Dancers got to perform for the whole study body. Our Stand 4 Kind student leaders and our Character Ed class will be sponsoring activities all week.
