Diamond Fork Parents,

When I drove into the school’s parking lot this morning I saw the sight you see in the picture on our website (www.dfjhs.nebo.edu) that accompanies this story. It was a beautiful and quiet sunrise with billowing clouds and a flag literally standing at attention as the winds blew it toward the northwest. Students were beginning to roll in from all directions on bikes, scooters and skateboards, on foot, by car and via school bus. Some were just waking up and others were smiling and skipping down the halls. We all came from different directions and circumstances to be a part of something bigger. We came to work together, to teach, and to learn. We exercised a choice to live responsibly.

Living responsibly, one of the three actions we practice from the school’s vision, includes in part setting a positive target for each day and making efforts to actualize it. For some this means studying for a science test or mastering a math concept, for others it could be to smile at each person met during the day and for others it may be to look for someone to help in some small way. No matter what we choose, if it’s positive, it’s worth it - and could make a big difference in ourselves and others.
