Dear Diamond Fork Parents,

We are embarking on our 2nd semester journey this week! It seems as though the latter part of the school year flies! The Roman writer, Seneca, once stated, “Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.” At the beginning of each semester, during E-time, teachers facilitate lessons for students pertaining to our core values and our mission. This allows students to refresh their knowledge of and reflect on their actions as they practice courage, compassion, perseverance, respect and integrity.

"Each year thousands of schools in the United States participate in the National Geographic Bee using materials prepared by the National Geographic Society. The contest is designed to encourage teachers to include geography in their classrooms, spark student interest in the subject, and increase public awareness about geography. Schools with students in grades four through eight are eligible for this entertaining and challenging test of geographic knowledge." - nationalgeographic.com

Teen Living Etiquette Dinner

Submitted by alesha.lemmon on

In December, the Teen Living class was able to attend a lunch held at Magleby’s in Springville. It was a pleasant experience being able to dress up and eat at a nice place. The point of going there was for the students to prove that we could, in fact, eat properly and know how we are supposed to act in a restaurant setting, and even at home.

The classes in the Theatre Department just finished their final performances for first semester. There were 9 one-act plays which each performed twice, as well as a showcase of individual pieces from the Shakespeare in Performance class. The technical elements for each production were run by students from the Technical Theater class as well. The students did a great job on their performance finals!

Dear Diamond Fork Parents,

In recent weeks we have talked about our five core values of courage, compassion, respect, integrity and perseverance. The impetus for the five values came from our mission statement that reads, “We empower students to think critically, live responsibly and lead ethically.” Our students practice core values by living the mission of the school. We believe when we act in accordance with our mission, we will become productive members of our citizenry.
