Submitted by mike.sorensen on

Thanks to all of the student members of our Polynesian Club for a great week. Lots of fun games at lunch and Etime as well as learning new information about the polynesian culture. On Wednesday at lunch students had the opportunity to try musubi, a popular snack and lunch food commonly found in Hawaii. It was a great week and we say thanks again to all who were involved!

Over the past week and a half our Chararcter Ed class, led by Mr. Buck have led the charge in our annual food drive. Our goal this year was to collect 25,000 items. The support of our students and community was overwhelming. Our LIA class set up outside of Macey's on cold days and handed out fliers. Our chararceter ed students made announcements, put up posters, and rallied our student body. Class competed against class for control of the lead in our drive and the results were astounding! We collected 42, 581 items!

Latinos in Action Class Field Trip

Submitted by mike.sorensen on

Our Latinos in Action class recently went on a field trip to Snow College in Ephraim, Utah. The students were able to get a tour of the campus, which included an orientation on how the college operates, they met some of the current students, and participated in a scavenger hunt around campus. It was a great experience for the students. Thanks to Senor Claybaugh for taking the group.

Thank You Veterans!

Today we honor all of those individuals that have served in our Armed Forces and those who are currently serving. We appreciate the sacrifice that they have made and for the sacrifice many are currently making. Those individuals have dedicated their lives to defend the freedoms that we enjoy each and every day. Today our 8th graders heard a special presentation about the American flag in their History class. Two special guests, Sergeant Peters and Lance Corporal Peters, along with our own Mrs. Peters gave this special Veteran’s Day presentation.
