7th Grade Science teachers just finished their create a cell unit. Kialah Kenison made a cell cake.
If you are an 8th grader interested in trying out for the Advanced Choir, "Vocal Premiere" next year, auditions are this Wednesday the 27th , Thursday the 28th, and Friday March 1st. If you are not currently in a choir class you need to audition. Please prepare 30 seconds of a favorite song to sing for the teacher. You can sign up for a time outside the choir room (Room 43). If there is no time that works for you, see Mrs. Lewis ASAP.
BYU’s Young Theater Company came to Diamond Fork to perform Shakespeare’s Comedy of Errors on Valentine’s Day for our 9th graders. Our 9th grade classes have been studying Shakespeare with Mrs. Trammell and Mrs. Anderson. Director Kris Jennings opted to set the condensed, high-energy production of the classic comedy in the world of 1960s beach movies. With a master’s degree in Shakespeare and training at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London, Jennings is a talented director.
Kindergarten Registration is Moving to Summer
Kindergarten registration, traditionally held in March, will be moved to the summer and combined with grades 1st -12th. More detailed information regarding summer registration for K-6th will be sent out to you before the end of the school year.
Parents can prepare now for registering their kindergarten children by making sure they have a birth certificate and that their child is current on the following immunizations: DTap, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Polio, Varicella and MMR by the end of July.
Our OUTSTANDING librarian, Mrs. Olsen and a few of her students were selcted to respresent Nebo School District at the State Capitol this week. One school from each district was chosen to showcase the neat things happening at their school. The DFJHS table was packed with the fun, awesome things we are lucky to have in our library. A big thanks to Mrs. Olson and her students for their preperation and for making our school library the best in the district! Students were treated by Senator Henderson to a tour. Along with Mr. Rowley, Mrs. Olson took the following students:

Last week Beginning Art students were learning about printmaking. They each created a stamp with a kind message and printed on post it notes. On Valentines Day students put a kind note on every student’s locker in the school!
Mrs. Kara Trammell, 9th grade English teacher won the Nebo PEAK (Positive, Energy, And, Kindness) Award at the Nebo District Board Meeting. She is an awesome teacher, person, and well deserved recipient of this award!
Coach Young and Mr. Rogers made this video to highlight the good things happening at DFJHS. This video was played during the Nebo District Board Meeting on Wednesday, February 13th.
