Submitted by bart.thompson on

Tuesday was our annual Stars Assembly, and our ten performances did not disappoint!  We had singers, dancers, pianists, flutists, and many more!  Thank you to all our participants, and all who auditioned last week!  A special thank you goes out to Mrs. Poulsen, Mrs. Lewis and Mrs. Tippetts for all their hard work in putting the show together!

Food Truck Round-up in Literature Circles

Submitted by bart.thompson on

Mrs. Nielson's Reading Classes finished up their Literature Circles today with a "Food Truck Round-up." Students were asked to create a business plan, theme and design for a food truck.  Some students even chose to provide samples of their food!  What a fun way to finish their unit!

The 23rd Annual DFJHS Food Drive is officially "in the books," and our amazing students have stepped up in a way that has far surpassed anyone's hopes or expectations!

Our National Junior Honor Society students recently have been coming in during E-times to knit hats to be donated to a children's hospital.  It's a great chance for our students to give back to our community!

Diamondbacks Score Wins to Open Season

Submitted by bart.thompson on

The Boys' and Girls' Basketball teams opened their seasons on Tuesday at home against Canyon View Jr High (Orem).  Both teams came up with victories, but in two VERY different ways!

The Lady Diamondbacks led from the start, outscoring their opponents 67-9. It was an absolute team effort as every member of the team was able to contribute to the team win!  Way to go Ladies!

We are into Week 2 of our 23rd Annual Food Drive, and things are going well!  After Week 1, Mrs. Reynaud's class is in the lead with Mr. Evans' and Mrs. Antares' classes not far behind!

This afternoon, our Leadership Class set up a table in front of Macey's to gather donations from patrons coming and going from the store!  Way to go, Diamondback Leaders!

It's not too late to help! We will continue to gather canned goods (and cash donations) through the rest of this week!
