Student love STEM! This week they were doing a unit on structural engineering. The students had to build houses with materials given. Then they simulated hurricane conditions to see if the the structures could endure. Afterward, groups were combined to reflect and make changes to the structures and test them again.
Our Leadership Class got to meet our wish child and his mom on a Zoom call. Our students immediately fell in love with charming Cohen who loves Harry Potter and Star Wars. The Leadership class will be running activities during our Wish Weeks to raise money to help grant Cohen's wish with Make-A-Wish.
Students at DFMS got to meet our wish child, Cohen today. We want to raise money to help grant a wish. This is a tradition at Diamond Fork. Donations can be given at our very own Diamond Fork Make-A-Wish page http://site.wish.org/goto/dfms
Students can bring spare change and we will be selling different treats at lunchtime for $1. If we reach our goal, teachers have prepared special performances for our wish assembly where Cohen will be our special guest. Fun activities are planned all next week in honor of Cohen!
