Diamond Fork Junior High's core values include integrity, courage, compassion, perserverance and respect.  This month we would like to share an amazing story of integrity as demonstrated by fellow Diamondback Kaden Crowther.

Kaden was in his English class playing a review game for his spelling/vocabulary test called "snake."   In this game students go around the room spelling the vocab words one letter at a time.  Kaden was one of the last two students still "up" - which means he was about to win the game.  The prize for winning snake is an automatic 100% on the spelling/vocabulary test, so the students fight hard for victory.

When Kaden's turn came up he couldn't remember the next letter in the word, so other students began trying to "help" by mouthing the next letter to him.  Kaden went out of his way to be honest and look at the floor so he wouldn't see what they were saying.  When he accidentally saw one of the kids mouthing the letter, he did the honest thing and admitted right away that he had seen it, so he disqualified himself from the game.  This automatically gave the win to the remaining player.  As the class applauded the winner Kaden was right with everyone else giving him a sincere congratulations. Kaden had no hard feelings about losing the game.  That is a perfect example of a fellow Diamondback showing integrity and good sportsmanship.  Thank you and congratulations to Kaden for the example he provides us all as a Diamondback in action!
