Literary Contests

Submitted by scott.buck on

This year Diamond Fork Junior High's English department has hosted several different literary competitions for students. The Halloween Haiku contest started off the fun this year and gave students the opportunity to compose a terrifically mysterious haiku for the entire school to enjoy.

Next came the "Compose the Opening Sentence of an Imaginary Novel" contest which really opened up student's imaginations. Currently, the English department is hosting the "Create Your Own Book Cover" contest where students take an actual existing novel and create an entirely original cover for it.  Entries for this contest are due March 6th.

Along with stiff competition, students are motivated by the prizes offered by the English department - including individual gift cards for winners of every grade division.  Congratulations to all those Diamondbacks who have already won, and to all those who are entering the current competition - good luck!
