Dear Diamond Fork Parents,

The school year is fading and dreams of summer are upon us. We have some year end events planned to celebrate our successes. One of those activities is the Year End School Dance. This should be a fun time for students to gather together and celebrate another completed school year. Additionally, the school will be going to Lagoon on May 28th for our annual Lagoon Day.

The students have accomplished quite a lot this year in all of their classes and extracurricular activities and we have seen extraordinary growth made. We would like to thank all of the parents, guardians and other relatives that support students and the school throughout the year. We couldn't do it without all of you.

DIAMONDBACK GEMS

Detention Hours: Students planning on attending Lagoon at the end of this month and/or the Year End Dance must serve detention if they have TARDIES, SLUFFS OR AFTs. If students have questions about how much detention they owe, have them see Mrs. Wilde or Mrs. Diamond in the office.

School Fees, Lunch Monies and Library Overdue Fees: Students must also have all overdue lunch money and overdue library fines paid in order to qualify to go to Lagoon. Additionally, if a student has ordered a yearbook and wants to receive it when they are passed out for signing, all school fees, library fines and lunch money must be paid in full.

Reading Skills and Speed Reading Programs: Weber State University is offering individualized programs including online instruction, independent reading in great books, and a skilled and encouraging teacher. This is an online summer program for preschool through grade 12. For more information, call Weber State University Continuing Education at 1-800-964-9974.

Driver’s Education: To sign up for summer driver’s education, students can take their permit and $100 to the finance office at Spanish Fork High School.  The first class will start June 1st at 9am.  The second class will be in July.  Dates and times will be determined.

Ping Pong: Students are invited to stay after school for “Open Ping Pong”. There will be ping pong tables set up in the gym on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays for anyone to come show off their mad paddle skills!

Amazon Smile: If you are planning on shopping on Amazon, you can always select the Nebo Education Foundation to receive a donation. Remember that all donations go back to teachers and students through the Nebo Education Foundation’s grant applications. AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price to the customer’s selected charitable organization. Follow the link for more information: http://smile.amazon.com/ch/87-0546418.
