Diamond Fork Junior High School's drama department is putting on their spring musical "Once Upon a Mattress." They carry out a fantastic performance every spring. This musical is directed by drama teacher Kara Poulson, and co director Maria Lewis, with choreographer Jada Poulson. The play will be performed at Diamond Fork Junior High school, on March 12th-15th. Tickets will be sold at the door with performances starting at 7 o’clock.
"Once Upon a Mattress" is a musical comedy about a queen that doesn't want to give up her thrown to her son. She does absolutely everything she can to keep her son from getting married, but the prince is not the only one suffering from the queen's selfishness. All the people throughout the land are under royal decree that no one may marry until the prince does. Sir Harry, a knight for the queen, tries everything he can do to find a princess that can pass the queen's unpassable and unfair test. One day a princess named Fredrica comes along and passes the test. The queen in disbelief decides to give her one last test. That test is to sleep on a stack of mattresses with a pea in the bottom mattress. However Fredrica does not know about the pea, but with a little help she just might pass the test.
In the end "Once Upon a Mattress" is a great family friendly play that everyone will enjoy. Its full of music, dancing and laughs. Please come and enjoy our wonderful show this spring. The drama department is working very hard to put this production together for you to enjoy. Hope to see you there!
