Scholarship: "Information for the $1000 Spirit of Community scholarship is available in the counseling office.  Any student that has given volunteer service can apply.  Students will need to apply on-line @ http://www.nassp.org/tabid/2539/default.aspx.  Students can also pick up an information sheet in the counseling office.  The deadline is November 3, only a few weeks away."

Book Fair & Maker Fair: The Book Fair will go from Nov. 6 - 11. Nov. 6 will be in-store, including the Maker Fair from 5 - 7 pm. This is a great opportunity for students to show off their talents (ie: sculpting, painting, drawing, science fair project.) Sign up in the library for the Maker Fair. The Maker Fair in conjunction with the Book Fair is a great opportunity for the students to share their talents and interests. Local artists will also be available at the store Nov. 6th and 7th. The Book Fair will benefit all the students and teachers at the school by giving us an opportunity to add more books in our library.

Here is a code for the students and parents to use at the Barnes and Noble Book Fair/Maker Fair.: 11727807 Bookmarks for all the students will be available in the office and in the library. Please use this code in-store and online for the duration of the book fair.

Online Coding Camps for Students: Interested in online computer coding?  Nebo District is offering after-school classes for students in grades 4-9 in various locations throughout the district.  Please click on the link for further information or to register for coding camps.

http://pub.lucidpress.com/nebocodingcamps/   These are camps taught by Nebo teachers in Nebo schools for Nebo kids but run through UVU community ed.  There are two intro camps which will run one day a week for 4 weeks beginning in Nov and another class beginning mid-Jan - intro classes are a $20 fee. There will also be an intermediate/advanced class beginning mid-Jan that runs for 8-10 weeks for a $45 fee.  I will ask you again to advertise early-Jan for those classes.  For those kids really into this, we will put together a Nebo competition team that will compete at UVU with other schools along the Wasatch Front on May 14 - UVU is hamming this up and making it a "big deal" event for the kids.
