The Multicultural Youth Leadership Summit (MYLS) is a one-day conference that brings together students, educators, and community and state government leaders from across the state. The goal of the MYLS is to provide participants with an inspiring experience to stimulate educational success and help shape the leaders of tomorrow. Approximately 30 of our own Diamondbacks were able to attend this conference and learn from many great examples of what it takes to be a leader! 

Seven of our amazing 9th grade Diamondbacks took a field trip to past Diamondback Faculty Member Jeff Cook's pumpkin patch - they picked a truckload of pumpkins (1800 pounds) to donate to the food bank in Provo. What an awesome act of service. We are so proud of our amazing students here at DFJHS!

Congratulations to our Halloween Haiku Contest Winners! All students grades 7-9 were encouraged to write and submit a Halloween Themed Haiku poem to their English teachers. Winners were announced and prizes awarded as follows:

Welcome back from Fall Break! We hope it was excellent and everyone enjoyed their time spent with family and friends. As a reminder, Term 1 ends this Thursday, October 22nd.

"Information for the $1000 Spirit of Community scholarship is available in the counseling office.  Any student that has given volunteer service can apply.  Students will need to apply on-line @ http://www.nassp.org/tabid/2539/default.aspx  Students can also pick up an information sheet in the counseling office.  The deadline is November 3, only a few weeks away."

Interested in online computer coding?  Nebo District is offering after-school classes for students in grades 4-9 in various locations throughout the district.  Please click on the link for further information or to register for coding camps.http://pub.lucidpress.com/nebocodingcamps/These are camps taught by Nebo teachers in Nebo schools for Nebo kids but run through UVU community ed.  There are two intro camps which will run one day a week for 4 weeks beginning in Nov and another class beginning mid-Jan - intro cl

Congratulations to the Diamond Fork cross country team who participated in the district finals meet with all 7 Jr. Highs in Nebo. The team results are as follows: Girls varsity placed 3rd, boys varsity placed 1st, girls JV placed 1st and boys JV placed 1st! This is an amazing accomplishment so congratulations to all of the participants.
