DFMS science students study animal adaptations

Submitted by russ.sumens on

The last day of third term passed quickly as DFMS science students ate to their little bird hearts' content. Each table was an island from the Galapagos and each student (finch) had a different beak type to see which beak had the best advantage by eating the most food. This was a fun activity (I mean, can't you tell from their earnest little faces in all the pictures?!) and competition was fierce. Not to worry! No students were harmed during the making of this film. Reenacting Darwin's travels around the world, students used natural selection to measure beak changes over time.

6th Grade Diamondback Day

Submitted by russ.sumens on

For our 6th Grade Diamondback Day, our students had an extended eTime. They had a blast playing games in the Gyms, but most of them wanted to be outside in the almost warm weather while relaxing on the new outside tables. Have a great weekend Diamondbacks!
