7th Grade Utah Studies Walking Field Trip of Spanish Fork History

Submitted by brenda.burr on

Our 7th grade students got to see the history in their own backyard, historic markers, a dugout, restored cabins, and numerous artifacts from history. It was a beautiful day and the students enjoyed our .guides from the Hughes family at the Jones-Hughes Pioneer Park. Collected in the yard were also a windmill, a wooden phone box, an outhouse, a granary, a pump house and even a bright teal and yellow box wagon sitting beside a peeling lime green shepherd wagon. Students also got to try out a selection of authentic pioneer toys.

Students don't realize how lucky they are to have a cycling class. It's great to see the students out having fun and being safe.

Native American Culture Cases from BYU

Submitted by brenda.burr on

Students in Utah Studies got to view culture cases from BYU. Artifacts are from various Great Basin cultures, many ancient, all “real.” Artifacts included early stone hand tools, arrowheads, drums, flute, cradleboard, baskets, and even a reed duck decoy. Students saw all the artifacts and experienced Native music in the “museum” day.
