After School Art Club has their First Activity--Suminagashi

Submitted by bart.thompson on

Mrs. Mickelson has started inviting small groups of students to join her after school for Art Club.  Thursday's small group were able to learn about the Japanese art form of Suminagashi--or paper marbling.  Students used a tub of water to drip ink into by drops.  Additionally, they learned how soap and rubbing alcohol could change the patterns created.  Once the pattern was created to their liking, students dropped a piece of rice paper into the bath to transfer the pattern onto paper.

Digital Literacy Students Learn About Drone Technology

Submitted by bart.thompson on

It isn't every day that junior high students get the chance to learn first hand about the latest technologies and advancements in the field of drones.  But, Ms. Tuttle's students had that opportunity this week in their Digital Literacy classes to do just that!

Ms. Tuttle's nephew, Devan Call, visited our school with several types of drones to demonstrate their capabilities and the technology behind them. Students were able to see first-hand how they operate.  It was a great day!  Thanks to Devan for being with us!
