Mrs. Tippetts is Retiring After Decades of Impacting Students' Lives

Submitted by bart.thompson on

Today is a momentous occasion at Diamond Fork. It is the last day of teaching for Mrs. Tippetts as she is retiring. Mrs. Tippetts has been a dedicated, gifted teacher who has gone above and beyond for over 29 years to serve students.  Known, respected, and loved throughout the community, she is a teaching legend.

Energetic, passionate, and fun, wearing go-go boots, playing her guitar like a rock star, donning zombie or steam punk Halloween costumes, or as in our Make-A-Wish Assembly last year- becoming the lead singer of ABBA, Mrs. Tippetts was always ALL IN!

After School Enrichment Activities

Our DFJHS After School Enrichment Activities are going strong! Mrs. Mickelson has been helping her Art group create beautiful works of art. This week, they are making "Film Canister Paint Rocket Art," which is pretty much exactly what it sounds like!  It was quite explosive!

Mrs. Poulsen's Drama crew is having fun playing games and developing their improvisational skills each week. It was awesome to see students taking charge of planning and executing these great games/activities!

Character Education Class Letting our At-Home Learners "Feel the Love"

Submitted by bart.thompson on

Our Character Education class is making their way through our list of "At-Home Learners". They are working to "Heart Attack" their classmates' front doors in an attempt to let our at-home learners know WE ARE ONE, and we are all in this together. It's going to take them several months to make it to everyone, but they are working diligently to accomplish this huge task!

First Diamondback Day Of The Year Is A Party!

Submitted by bart.thompson on

We celebrated our first "Diamondback Day" activity of the year on Monday with a COVID-friendly activity!  Students were invited outside for a doughnut and free time to listen to music, play 9-square, spikeball, etc. or to just visit with friends.  The weather was wonderful and students enjoyed getting a break from their daily tasks.

Well done, Diamondbacks! Keep working hard and living our Core Values!

Submitted by bart.thompson on

Mr. Evans put on his leather mocassins, his felt hat and his furs and made an appearance in all our Utah Studies classes today. He taught them about Mountain Men, including their customs, traditions, occupations, and survival. He taught about their interactions with Native Americans, the wildlife, weather and diseases. It was a wonderful day!
