Art teachers Jean Marie Anderson and Leah Carter received an art grant from the Nebo Foundation for a potter wheel and clay. Students will be able to have the benefit of the therapeutic qualities of creating with clay. Pottery involves a lot of mistakes and mishaps. Students quickly learn how easy it is to re-roll the clay and begin anew. The light in the eyes of the students when they see the glossy, glazed pieces that they have created is the magic that happens in art.
7th grade students with good academic and citizenship grades were rewarded with games and activities at the All Abilities Park. With a pizza lunch and beautiful weather, it was a perfect day for fun!
Our band students got to be part of a spooky band bash at Spanish Fork High School that included DFMS, Spanish Fork Junior and Spanish Fork High! The band directors were dressed as the Men in Black and many of the performers were wearing costumes as well. It was a packed house so our band students got to have a great audience for what was for many of them their first performance!
September Students of the Month! These students are great examples of kindness, service, and hard work. We are proud they attend Diamond Fork Middle School!

We are thankful each week for our Diamondback News. Students love it and it's always entertaining.
Some of our DFMS students were featured at the Nebo School District Board Meeting this week! Our Leadership Class wrote and presented on all of the ways that we take care of our students emotional, social, and academic needs at DFMS, highlighting our Mindfulness Minute each morning and Happiness Hunt at the end of each day, Chill Rooms, Rattler Time, Team Time, Team Serve, DF News, Character Ed Class, School motto, themes, and values, and of course our Snake Pit! Our dance classes then performed to our school theme song for this year Together in This!
6th grade students were rewarded for good grades and citizenship with a visit to BYU Sports Hero Day where they participated with BYU athletes by trying out a variety of sporting events such as high jumping, gymnastics, baseball, track and field, cheer, volleyball, and more!
Our own awesome Mr. Bowden was honored at Nebo School District School Board meeting last night as a recipient of the prestigious PEAK (Positive Energy and Kindness) award. Although Mr. Bowden officially teaches health, cycling, and our peer leadership class, he can also be found running our talent show, assembling furniture, putting up and decorating our Christmas tree, helping organize our end-of-the-year activity day, hauling furniture out of the building, organizing equipment in the summer, and supervising when administration isn't in the building, etc.
