Radon Poster Contest

To help raise awareness about the dangers of radon, students at Diamond Fork Junior High School are doing a poster contest.  Entries are due October 8th to your science teacher.  If you win the school contest you move on to the state competition, if you win the state competition you receive money and a chance to move on to the national competition.

May Students of the Month

Every month at Diamond Fork Junior High two students from the 7th, 8th, and 9th grades are selected as students of the month.  These students are nominated and then voted on by the entire faculty.  The students of the month for May are:

Journalism Visits BYU Studios

Journalism students at Diamond Fork Junior High recently visited the studios of BYU TV, and the radio station KBYU 89.1 FM.  Students were able to talk with reporters and ask them questions about a career in journalism.  Students were even invited into the broadcasting booth of KBYU, and were present as the DJ broadcast live on the air.  After investigating the working environments of professional journalists, students were also able to visit the recording facilities of the YouTube hit show "Studio C."

Poetry Out Loud

On Thursday, May 2nd, seventh grade students at Diamond Fork Junior High assembled together to cheer on their fellow classmates who were selected to represent their English class.  As a school activity every 7th grader selected a poem to not only memorize but "perform" for

Orchestra

Diamond Fork Junior High School’s eighth grade orchestra has had a fabulous year. They recently held their end of year concert highlighting what they've been working on for the last few months.  Diamond Fork’s eighth grade orchestra teachers Sherrie Dunford and Julie Boogert were very pleased with the orchestra's performance.

Choirs at Diamond Fork

There are two choirs at Diamond Fork Junior High, Chorus 1 and Concert Choir. Students audition for Concert Choir, but Chorus 1 is open to anyone interested in working on strengthening their voice.  Students in choir work very hard to make sure their voices sound excellent for performances.

Summer Library Services

Did you know that our school library is open 5 days during summer vacation?  That's right, Mrs. Olsen will open our library from 10 am to 1pm on Wednesday, June 5th, Wednesday, June 19th, Wednesday, July 3rd, Wednesday July 17th, and Wednesday, August 7th. Students and their families can come in and check out books, playing chess, work on puzzles, or just relax and read a book. Since the library will be open this summer, go in and enjoy it!

Fitness Day 2013

Diamond Fork Junior High is holding fitness day on May 22, 2013. Students, teachers and parents will be participating in a 5k run - which is over 3 miles! The race begins at 9:05 at the east side parking lot of the school. The course will lead past Larson Elementary and down Canyon Road where police will be blocking off the roads. Then they will run all the way past Park Elementary and back to Diamond Fork.
